“Allied Music Teen Band”

Last September I wrangled up some high school students and got them together to start a band. It was based on a platform that we started at Amp Camp in 2013, but with more time to develop skills like proper interpersonal communication, arrangements and dynamics; to raise each band member up to be self sufficient in eventually leading their own band. Then, my hope is that each member of that band will go out and start a new band making the ripple effect of healthy young bands in this community more present.

Last year, with the help of Erik Olson, I realized that the only way that we are going to get our private students to grow exponentially is to get them together and make music!

From when we started in September and where we ended up with their (our) performance in December, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and I look forward to hearing them on their next gig in April.

I will be getting more bands together over the years with different genres being focused on, so keep an eye out.
